Marvel’s Next Big Film Gamble Is Going To Be ‘The Inhumans’

Thanks to the runaway success of Guardians of the Galaxy, the gang over at Marvel Studios now have quantifiable proof that they can grab just about any old comic from their archives, throw it on screen and expect to make a few hundred million dollars out of it (there’s hope yet for a Howard the Duck reboot, people!). So with that in mind, what’s next for the company behind some of the highest grossing films of all time? Another ensemble movie from a rag-tag group of crucial dudes called The Inhumans.

The good word is that Marvel is now keen to push forward with the new project, having already gotten a script in place – penned by Joe Robert Cole – and is now in the process of sounding out a filmmaker to helm the project.
Marvel’s formula for this is remaining fairly consistent; when it came to Guardians of the Galaxy, the company commissioned a script, then brought on director James Gunn to add his own personal flair, whilst preserving the approved script’s story and action beats. This will largely be the same process for The Inhumans.

We know that Vin Diesel has already hinted at being involved in some way, shape, form or fashion, having just come off his voice performance as Groot in the Guardians film.

Who exactly are The Inhumans? They’re an alien-bred race of superhumans, led by their king Black Bolt and his royal family that includes Medusa, Karnak, Gorgon, Triton, Crystal, Maximus the Mad and canine Lockjaw.
Though absolutely no other details about the movie are known at this point – including release date – given that it’s Marvel it’s probably best to not fight it, and simply sigh and open up your wallets to them once again.
