Leaked ‘Guardians Of The Galaxy’ Post-Credits Scene Reveals A Very Surprising Appearance

With the release date now mere hours away, media types have begun getting access to preview screenings and reviews have been flooding in and the general hype machine is starting to ramp up to aid the looming release of Marvel‘s newest ensemble blockbuster, Guardians of the Galaxy.

And with that, comes not only the anticipation for the film itself – which, by all accounts, looks like it’s going to be a belter – but also for the other little titbits of cool that Marvel films are renowned for: post-credits scenes.
From this point on, assume MASSIVE SPOILERS.
A video on social media service VK – essentially Russia’s version of Facebook – shows what appears to be a post-credits sequence from the film. Though Marvel has aggressively been chasing any and all copies of the video and erasing them from the internet, screen shots have been captured and are circulating online. And they reveal an extremely surprising appearance by a left-field character from the Marvel universe.
We very much encourage you to see the film and discover the end credits surprise for yourself unspoiled. But if you absolutely must know who it is right now, read on.
Seriously, don’t say we didn’t warn you.
Alright, here goes.
Guys! Look! It’s HOWARD THE DUCK.
But OF COURSE Howard the freaking Duck makes an appearance in Guardians, which in itself looms as being the most irreverent of the Marvel films so far.
Fans of Marvel’s history on film/shitty films in general will “fondly” remember Marvel’s surrealist duck from the woeful 1986 film Howard the Duck which earned the unique achievement of killing the careers of the entire cast (save for Tim Robbins).
What he’s doing in the newest instalment in the Marvel Cinematic Universe remains to be seen, though rumour has it it has something to do with Benicio del Toro‘s character The Collector.
All will be revealed when Guardians of the Galaxy is released TOMORROW.
Until then, NO MORE MISTER NICE DUCK.
