Man Who Led 12-Hour Standoff W/ Police On Sydney Roof Charged With Murder

The man at the centre of a tense, 12-hour standoff with police on a rooftop in Sydney‘s Chatswood earlier this month has been charged with murder.

37-year-old tradesman June Oh Seo was eventually arrested after spending 12 hours on top of a high-rise, after the body of his girlfriend, 34-year-old bank worker Hee Kyung Choi, was discovered in a laneway below.

He was initially arrested after the standoff on October 9 and charged with one count of domestic violence-related assault against Choi. After police conducted more than 90 investigative interviews, they have now charged Seo with Choi’s murder.

SBS reports that the NSW Police are alleging that Seo assaulted Choi between 4.30 and 4.35am on October 9, and murdered her between 4.30 and 6.30am, when her body was discovered by a passerby.

Police have said that Choi’s injuries were consistent with a fall from a great height.
