Man Charged With Murder After Death of 26-Year-Old Sydney Woman

Yesterday, police were seeking a 33-year-old man for questioning after the body of 26-year-old apprentice hairdresser Leila Alavi was discovered in a shopping centre car park in Sydney’s west.

This morning, various sources including 9 News report that the man has been arrested and charged with murder, and will appear at Parramatta Local Court later today.
Per a report in the Sydney Morning Herald, Alavi’s colleagues say she was was at work when she received a phone call, believed to be from the man, asking her to meet in the car park. 
When she failed to return, a co-worker went to look for her, and made the distressing discovery at around 9.30am. The man was arrested at a property in Guilford West just before 7pm yesterday.
Ms Alavi was originally from Iran, and her co-workers have remembered her as a bubbly, bright and friendly woman. “Leila was very responsible, trustworthy in every way and a really hard worker,” one said.
