Man Claiming To Have A Bomb In His Car Arrested At White House Gates

Police have arrested a man in Washington D.C. after he drove up to check point at the White House and claimed to have a bomb in his car.
CNN is reporting that the man doesn’t appear to have actually had any explosive devices with him, but White House security has been beefed up, and several streets around the area were close. Reporter Ryan Nobles said on Twitter that the bomb squad also sent in a robot to thoroughly check the car.
The Secret Service confirmed in a statement that the man had been detained at 11:05pm on Saturday night, when agents had “declared his vehicle suspicious“.
US President Donald Trump was not in the White House at the time of the bomb scare; he is currently at his Florida resort in Mar-a-Lago.
