Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department has given an update on their investigations into last night’s mass shooting, saying they have uncovered at least 18 weapons at suspected shooter Stephen Paddock’s Mesquite home, in addition to at least 19 found at a Mandalay Bay hotel suite.
Sheriff Joseph Lombardo said authorities had also discovered explosives and “several thousand” excess rounds of ammunition. Several “electronic devices” discovered at the property are also being investigated.

Paddock, 64, had not previously been a person of interest to federal authorities, but was reportedly known to local law enforcement.
He had no known links to terror organisations. Regarding any possible terrorism connection behind the horrific shooting, Sheriff Lombardo said “we have no idea what his belief system was,” and “I can’t get into the mind of a psychopath at this point.”
Paddock was found dead in a 32nd floor suite of the Mandalay Bay hotel, situated across from the Route 91 Harvest Festival. It is believed he died by suicide.
59 people were killed and over 500 were injured during the attack, which has become the deadliest mass shooting in American history.
