The U.S. Supreme Court’s ruling last week, legalising same-sex marriage across the country, was met with an overwhelming response – much of it positive, like Facebook’s symbolic rainbow filter that allowed people to show their support, and a bit of it negative, from the usual array of dickheads.
The following man on the street – or in this case, kid on the street – segment from Jimmy Kimmel is one of the better responses we’ve seen. While we’re naturally sceptical of any viral video that involves tiny humans spitting up ~profound~ chunks of wisdom that somehow elude adults, this is bang on.
So, to answer the question ‘how do I explain same-sex marriage to my kids?’, observe, as young people succeed in grasping the straightforward concept of marriage equality:
