There’s never a particular dearth of stories about Donald Trump being extremely weird in the vicinity of his daughter Ivanka – but here’s another one for you anyway.
Recently there’s been shitloads of critique aimed squarely at Ivanka – who many media outlets argued could / would be a moderating influence on her father, even though it seemed kind of weird she’d be handed a bunch of high-level roles for no reason other than nepotism. Well, Donald doesn’t quite see it that way – to him, she’s his daughter.
As such, he massively humiliated her onstage at an appearance in North Dakota, where he called her up on the stage during his event about tax reform in the weirdest way possible. “By the way, Ivanka Trump,” the president said in his remarks. “Everybody loves Ivanka.”
“Sometimes they’ll say, ‘You know, he can’t be that bad a guy’ — look at Ivanka,” Trump continued. “No, come on up, honey. She’s so good. She wanted to make the trip.”
“She said, ‘Dad, can I go with you?’ She actually said, ‘Daddy, can I go with you?’” Trump said, correcting himself. “I like that, right? ‘Daddy, can I go with you?’ I said, ‘Yes, you can.’ ‘Where are you going?’ ‘North Dakota.’”
