Three Children Confirmed Dead After Devastating House Fire In Hunter Valley

Three children have died after a devastating house fire in New South Wales’ Hunter Valley overnight, which resulted in the hospitalisation of another eight-year-old and a 31-year-old woman.

ABC reports firefighters were called to the Singleton property around 3.30am, where they found the home fully engulfed by flames.

NSW Police state two girls, thought to be twins, were rushed to Singleton Hospital but were later pronounced deceased. Authorities later found the body of a boy in the home.

The eight-year-old boy and the woman were treated for smoke inhalation by NSW Ambulance paramedics before being transported to hospital. Their current condition is not known.

Eyewitnesses told 9NEWS they were woken by the sound of screams coming from the house.

“It was terrible. It was horrendous. People everywhere. The firies all turned up,” one neighbour said.

NSW Police say they will investigate where and how the fire started as soon as it is safe to do so, and a full report will be prepared for the NSW Coroner.
