Much like POTUS Barack Obama before her, our number-one-redhead will soon appear online in an attempt to engage voters through a live video chat.
On July 21, we ‘laypeople’ will be able to join with Prime Minister, Julia Gillard in an online Google+ Hangout. Aptly titled Question Time, voters from across the country will be given the opportunity to interrogate our Prime Minister from the comfort of their own living rooms and with a laissez faire attitude towards pants.
The OurSay.org website will be soliciting questions from the people as well as Twitter users using the hashtag #pmhangout. With the top three questions earning digital hangout time directly with the PM (woohoo!).
Responses will appear on Google+, the Deakin University YouTube page, Fairfax media websites and pm.gov.au.
“It’s modern democracy and modern technology at work,” Gillard says. “I hope you’ll join me, and I hope you’ll ask a question.”
We’ve got one!
