Grant Hackett Apologises ‘Unreservedly’ For Mid-Air Nipple Cripple Ordeal

Grant Hackett has spoken out about the past 48 thoroughly hectic hours of his life, after he was arrested by Australian Federal Police at Melbourne Airport for allegedly groping / nipple-crippling the passenger in front of him. Over the reclined nature of the business-class passenger’s seat.

The triple-Olympian and triple-gold medallist told Fairfax “I seriously and genuinely regret my poor behaviour,” before admitting “I have stuffed up more than once and am working on these issues.”

The 35-year-old swimmer also said he was attempting to get in contact with the man he supposedly assaulted; after reports emerged last night the man wouldn’t be pressing charges over the incident, it was announced this morning he most certainly will be seeking legal action.

“It is embarrassing to hear and read the consequences of my actions. I apologise unreservedly to the gentleman on the flight. I am trying to make direct contact with him personally.

I know I have to front the media and discuss my actions in a more appropriate and accountable way. I just have to sort a few things first so I can be as frank and open as I need to be. I apologise for the inconvenience.”
This entire story has been baffling since the get-go, even with a blow-by-blow rundown of the events on the plane. Still, we’ll be tracking it ’til it makes sense.
