Gourmet Cat Food Pulled From Aussie Shelves After Reports Of Deadly Illness

Cat owners nationwide have been advised not to feed their precious pals Best Feline Friend products, after a pet food manufacturer issued a massive recall of the tinned meals.

The Petbarn-exclusive food was stripped from shelves after a bevy of pet owners reported their cats fell seriously ill after eating it. U.S.-based Weruva was moved to withdraw the Australia-exclusive range to test the range “out of an abundance of caution.”

Since that move, cat-owners have continue to post about their pets’ reported reactions to the food, which has been marketed as “people food for pets.”

One claims to have been left no option but to put their cat down due to illness incurred by eating BFF foods; another wrote their cat’s condition “was touch and go for a long time” and incurred “thousands of dollars in vet bills.”
That Facebook user claims they will be seeking compensation from Weruva over their cat’s illness; another claims that Weruva has already offered to pay for their vet expenses.

Anyone with BFF products has been advised to return them to Petbarn to receive full refunds, and to contact Weruva directly should they have any questions or concerns.

We’re hoping all of your kitties are safe and well, pals.
