Duff Beer, Moe’s Tavern Turning Sydney Into Springfield

Four out of five doctors agree: Only Duff Beer fills your Q Zone with pure beer goodness. Often imitated, never duplicated, Springfield’s legendary lager Duff has long eluded fans of the incomparable animated sitcom The Simpsons. Sure, there’s been attempts at getting the brew of much myth and legend off of animation cels and onto bottle shop shelves. Brewing giant Lion Nathan attempted an extremely unauthorised attempt at it in the mid 90s, which was shut down by the kind of swift, decisive legal action that Lionel Hutz could only ever dream of. And in more recent years, a kind of half-assed attempt (it’s the American way!) at a slightly more legal version of Duff made its way to stores. No one seemed to notice. But now, NOW there’s a genuine, bonafide, fully legal version of Duff about to hit our shores, and to celebrate they’re bringing Springfield’s own dispenser of dank, Moe’s Tavern along with them.

The official Duff Beer will hit all good liquor dispensaries from later this month, and if you’re in Sydney you’re in for an even bigger special treat. A pop-up version of Moe’s Tavern will be slinging Duff from the first floor of the Wolloomooloo Bay Hotel for a glorious seven day period between May 23rd and 30th.
Can’t get enough of that wonderful Duff? The pop-up Moe’s isn’t stopping there. Along with providing the local lugs who fill your mug with the drug you chug, Moe’s will be bringing the tastes of Springfield along with them, including Lard Lad Donuts, Duffalo Wings, and the almighty, fresh-as-a-daisy, legal in 24 states, one-of-a-kind Krusty Burger – though no word on if they’ll also be serving Krusty Partially Gelatinated Non-Dairy Gum-Based Beverages as well.
The pop-up Moe’s will encapsulate all the charm of the immortal tavern’s home base. We’ve been assured that, despite rumours to the contrary, the dank has not been gotten rid of. And that all original bar rules will apply to the satellite location, which includes a 2 drink minimum if you’re planning on beating up the owner’s friends on bar premises, along with a rotating shift of midnight Barney guarding when the beer delivery truck arrives.
The expansion of the Duff empire into Australia begins with the arrival of the classic Duff beer that has served Springfield so well for so many years. And we, for one, hope the full range of Duff arrives on our shores. Before too long, we’ll all be able to take our pick from Duff, Duff Dry, Duff Dark, Lady Duff, Duff Lite, Duff Extra Cold, Raspberry Duff, Tartar Control Duff and Colonel Henry K. Duff’s Private Reserve, among many others.
So drink up. And up! And up!
Now, if only there were a Canyonero car service to drive you home…
