Downton Abbey Drops Season Four Trailer, First Glimpse Of Attempted Diverse Cast

Downton Abbey has dropped its trailer for its upcoming fourth season of upper class soap, with the kind of satisfying hints at drama that will have mums worldwide descending in to puddles of fangirls. 
The Dowager Countess (the perfect as ever Maggie Smith, bless) kicks off the trailer, stating the obvious between the two black and white corners of our wretched lives: “You must choose either death or life“, explaining to the trembling Lady Mary that she best move on. 
What follows is a fast paced montage set to the completely ill-fitting “Wolf’s Law” by Joy Formidable, toning down what will inevitably be quality drama with a vibe that distinctly screams Neighbours, which probably isn’t the angle they’re going for. The trailer for Downton Abbey Season Four also introduces us to the attempt of diversifying the veritable bleach-white blanket that is Downton Abbey’s cast: Gary Carr plays a singer at an exclusive night club, and from the approximate three seconds he’s given in the trailer, he looks suave and charming as all hell. 
We end with Lady Rose fabulously declaring, omitting the Ryan Atwood/The OC inspired “bitch” as an ending flourish, to appear rather proper: “Welcome to Downton Abbey!
