Buckle the hell up, Australia: you’re set for a mighty drizzling.
Forecasts for the end of the week predict the entire eastern slab of our fine nation will be hit by a gnarly low pressure system, bringing massive quantities of rain with it.
Stunningly, 400mm of rain could also fall in isolated areas. That’s too much rain, for anyone, and the Bureau of Meteorology took that into consideration when issuing a flood watch for those regions.

Things are also looking mighty soggy along the remainder of the coast, as the slow-moving low pressure system will linger as far south as the top tip of Tasmania.
Brisbane is up for thunderstorms beginning on Friday; rains are likely to begin in Sydney on Thursday; Melbourne will likely get soaked from Friday; and Launceston is expected to get drenched on Saturday.
