Donald Trump Is Pretty Salty About “Hillary Lover” Meryl Streep’s Call-Out

Donald Trump has given his take on Meryl Streep and her Golden Globes speech, and we’re not giving out prizes for guessing what he thought about it.

During a short phoner with The New York Times after Streep’s seriously heartfelt address – during which the iconic actor called the American President-elect out for openly mocking a disabled reporter – Trump said he wasn’t surprised at the backlash from “liberal movie people.”

He also took aim at Streep personally, claiming that her take was biased due to her status as “a Hillary [Clinton] lover,” and that she totally misinterpreted the entire mocking scandal.

Skip to 2:30 here to hear her words on the matter:

ICYMI, back in the days when very, very few of us believed that orange packing peanut of a human could ascend to the top office in the USA, Trump had a beef with a reporter named Serge F. Kovaleski.

Kovaleski, a serious gun of a journo whose work has picked up a Pulitzer Prize, has a physical impediment called arthrogryposis. As a result, one of his arms is contracted at an angle.

So, when Kovaleski did his job and held Trump to account over a very fucking spurious claim he made regarding people cheering in New York City on 9/11, Trump did this:
That’s what had Streep so worked up. Even after all of the extra garbage the man has come out with, that one is worth remembering, and Streep obviously made some kind of impact on the public psyche by bringing it into focus again.
FWIW, Trump told the NYT “people keep saying I intended to mock the reporter’s disability, as if Meryl Streep and others could read my mind, and I did no such thing.” We can only hope it was all some kind of very unfortunate and ignorant slip-up, but the man’s other actions don’t exactly suggest that’s the case, hey?
