Conservative US Republican Rick Santorum loves Tony Abbott And His Catholic Values

Tony Abbott has been praised by God-fearing Republican conservative and former presidential candidate, Rick Santorum, for maintaining his right-wing Christian credo in his public political front and connecting with Australian voters. Not confirmed: Whether or not Santorum is aware Mr Abbott won Prime Minstership by pulling a Bradbury.

In an interview with Fox News, the GOP poster boy described Abbott as a “hardliner” that Republican party members could learn from. Santorum said, “Australia is clearly to the left of us on most of these moral cultural issues and yet Tony Abbott is a conservative Catholic who didn’t change his positions one bit, but was able to go out there and connect with average voters.”

As high profile political endorsements go, Tony Abbott has not exactly found an ideal champion in Rick Santorum whose Jesus-invoking and extreme social conservatism make the PM look like an open-minded chill bro by comparison.

Santorum, who has supported political initiatives such as reward savings schemes for low-income families, funding autism research and significant efforts to fight HIV/AIDS, has also maintained staunch opposition to same-sex marriage and once compared homosexuality to bestiality (just like Australia’s perpetually creeped out walking face-palm Cory Bernardi). He has dismissed global warming and the human implications of climate change as a left-wing conspiracy, and remains a continued supporter of gun rights and United States’ participation in the War in Iraq.
