Cancer Fraudster Belle Gibson Has Again Refused To Show Her Face In Court

Cancer fraudster Belle Gibson has once again failed to show up to court, with the civil case by Consumer Affairs Victoria against her at the Federal Court in Melbourne proceeding without her.

Gibson is accused of falsely claiming that she healed herself of terminal cancer by rejecting modern medicine and embracing a new age diet which she outlined in her wildly popular book The Whole Pantry. Consumer Affairs Victoria claims that she had “no reasonable basis” for claiming she had brain cancer at all.
Gibson, of course, admitted in a 60 Minutes broadcast last year that everything she had said about her cancer diagnosis was not true. “No. None of it’s true. I don’t want forgiveness. I just think [speaking out] was the responsible thing.”

“Above anything, I would like people to say ‘OK, she’s human’.”
She’s also accused of stealing thousands of dollars through bogus fundraising measures, and lying about donating huge sums of cash to charity.
She could be on the hook for $1.1 million – a hefty chunk of change for someone who absolutely is not raking it in any more on account of no longer selling very many books.
