Armie Hammer seems to be the go-to source for tasty little morsels about the MUCH anticipated Call Me By Your Name sequel film.
The dude cannot stop spilling the beans – last year he told Variety it’ll DEFINITELY happen, and now he’s telling them it’s all based around…. an entirely new book.

Armie starts out by telling Variety there’s no update on the sequel, but then tells us all that, in fact, there is actually an update on the sequel.
“…André Aciman who wrote the book is working on a second book. I don’t know how long it takes to write a book, but we at least have that much time, and then we have to write a script, and we’ll see.”
Previously, the tale being spun from those in the know was that the second film would be based around the last chapter of the first book, which looks at Elio and Oliver 15 years after their summer romance. But a new book could either continue that narrative, or jump somewhere in the middle of that timeline.
Either way, who cares! The movie! It’s still happening! AND we get a second book too!
Also was this just an excuse to use copious gifs of Elio and Oliver in love? Youuuu betcha.
