BURN YOUR TVS: Sky News To Relaunch ‘The Bolt Report’ As Nightly Program

Prepare for an overwhelming amount of Andrew Bolt this upcoming election, because he’s about to be fkn everywhere.

Sky News are relaunching his once-weekly program The Bolt Report – which Network Ten decided not to renew – as a nightly news program. According to reports in The Australian today, it’s essentially going be a revamped version of his old Sunday morning program: fewer clips, more guests, same hard right schtick.

Help us all.

It’s being positioned as a competitor to ABC News and 7:30, where Bolt’s oft-criticised and sometimes-racially discriminatory opinions will be beamed into the homes of millions. “Andrew hasn’t been hired to read the weather,” said CEO and managing editor of Australian News Channel (which owns Sky News) Angelos Frangopoulos, which is a threat if we’ve ever heard one.

One of the key areas Bolt’s eager to explore is “to hold the media to account”, which is essentially what the media has been doing to him all these years. (For example.) Reading between the lines, it looks like Bolt might launch a new segment called ‘What Fairfax and the ABC lefty-scum got wrong this week‘, during which he simply holds up a copy of the SMH and whines.

Until The Bolt Report relaunches in May, you can catch Bolt’s thousands of reasonable and well-balanced opinions on constitutional recognition, domestic violence, or Malcolm ‘Judas’ Turnbull on his nationally-syndicated Herald Sun columns, his widely-read political blog, or on one of 51 radio stations across the Macquarie radio network.
