Bryan Fkn Cranston Will Play The Floating Head Of Zordon In ‘Power Rangers’

Well, bloody hell. Here’s a thing we did not expect to read today.

The rebooted ‘Power Rangers‘ movie continues to rumble along its production phase, thunderously confusing new costumes and all.
And though many of you (and us) have expressed trepidations about the film in the form of bashed-out keyboard expletives, it is a thing that’s going to happen no matter what.
As such, the film’s gotta fill out its cast and find people to take on all the roles featured in the OG Mighty Morphin‘ series, which the new film is directly based on.
We’ve already got Elizabeth Banks as the villainous Rita Repulsa, and a troupe of non-threatening young people for whom the time to morph is nigh.
But for every Repulsa, there’s gotta be a Zordon. A yin to the yang. And the role of the Rangers’ floating giant head of a mentor has officially been filled.
By Bryan Fkn Cranston.
Yes. That Bryan Cranston.
The one-time Heisenberg will stick his head into the energy tube at the Rangers Command Centre to help guide the young saviours of Angel Grove in their battle against the newly-freed Repulsa, as the man himself confirmed on Twitter earlier today.

What version of Cranston shows up in the film remains to be seen, but we’re desperately keen for something like the bumbling, affable middle-class Dad Hal from ‘Malcolm in the Middle.’

That said, a sneering, vengeful, increasingly violent crystal meth kingpin controlling a group of hyper-karate teens and their giant robot dinosaurs absolutely has its merits.

The Power Rangers movie is scheduled to hit cinemas on March 24th, 2017.
