Body Found Off Bondi Beach Identified As Missing US Exchange Student

body found in the water off Sydney‘s Bondi Beach has been identified as 20-year-old American exchange student Endicott Ackerman, who went missing in extreme weather conditions June 6th.

Endicott was in Australia studying science at Sydney University, and was last seen jumping into the waves during the end of one of the brutal storms that wracked the east coast.
Witnesses reported seeing a man jumping off the rocks before disappearing:
“He just jumped in when the waves were going out and when the waves came in again he went under and couldn’t keep up.”
His body was found early in the morning June 11th and was retrieved by Marine Area Command, who handed it over for forensic examination and identification.
It was officially confirmed to be Ackerman today, based on matching dental records.
