Perhaps he was fed up of the gross misrepresentation of the second most populous religion in the world. Perhaps he was sick of hearing middle-aged white men attempt to justify what he sees as an unjust and over-reactionary military conflict. Or perhaps he was just tired of people hating on him for being the new Batman.
Whatever the reason, Ben Affleck reached his breaking point during a televised panel discussion chaired by Bill Maher and his trademark “I’m just gonna keep talking over the top of you in increasingly loud volumes” style of debating. The panel was centred on the raging debate centring around the Islamic State and the media’s propagation of Islamophobia.
With Maher, and fellow conservative commentator Sam Harris, lambasting liberal dialogue on the issue whilst painting the entire religion with the broadest of brushes, Affleck frantically reached for his last straw only to gaze across the desk to see Maher gleefully snapping it in two.
After Harris described the entire religion as “the motherload of bad ideas,” Affleck fired back, chastising the pairs remarks as “gross and racist.”

You might love Ben Affleck. You might find him a bit annoying. But the one thing everyone can agree on after watching this is that Bill Maher is a bit of a dick.
