This is probably more a personal shortcoming than anything else, but I cannot tell the difference between anyone below the age of 15. It doesn’t matter if he has an eyepatch and a mohawk, if you tell me the kid in the suit sitting next to Melania Trump is Barron, I am just going to believe you.
While they might not have juvenile face blindness to the extent I do, it turns out a bunch of people were similarly perturbed to discover that the well-dressed young child gracing the chair to the right of the First Lady during the State of the Union address was, in fact, not the long-limbéd young son of Trump.

I am not entirely certain, but I think the White House has recast the role of Barron Trump for the second season. #SOTU #StateOfTheUnion pic.twitter.com/J4CIdWPaeT

The Barron doppelganger was actually Preston Sharp, a 12-year-old who was invited by the president thanks to his efforts in making sure that the graves of veterans were decorated with flowers and American flags, arranging for more than 40,000 to be placed since 2015. Pretty impressive effort, considering at that age I was spending all my time trying to figure out which Neopets games gave you the most Neopoints the fastest.
(It’s Meerca Chase, I reckon).
