Absolute Dickhead Alan Jones Is On His Last Warning ‘Coz Even His Boss Is Over His Shit

Alan Jones made headlines earlier this week for being an absolute dickhead, and it turns out everyone is just about done with his shit, including the people who pay him, according to the ABC.

The 2GB broadcaster, who is a public climate change denier, suggested that Scott Morrison should “shove a sock down” Jacinda Arden’s throat when she called us out on our frankly piss poor climate change efforts.

“She’s a clown, Jacinda Ardern. A complete clown,’’ Jones said. “I just wonder whether Scott Morrison is going to be fully briefed to shove a sock down her throat.’’

Gross.

Now, Arden was completely within her rights to say what she said. I don’t understand why anyone would have anything bad to say about her. The woman is an absolute saint. Every politician could learn a thing or two from her leadership and compassion.

Also, we probably shouldn’t criticise Ardern when we can barely keep a PM in office for a full term.

Thankfully, 2GB but Alan Jones back in his place after the ordeal.

ME Bank have pulled their advertising deal with the broadcaster, and now 2GB have announced that he’s on his last straw after his comments.

“Notwithstanding [Jones’s] apologies, I have today discussed the matter with Alan and advised him that any recurrence of commentary of this nature will result in the termination of his contract,” Russell Tate, the chairman of Macquarie Media Limited (2GB’s parent company) said.

I’m not sure why he gets another chance. He had similar shitty things to say about Julia Gillard when she was the PM. During her time in leadership, Jones said that she should be “put into a chaff bag and thrown into the sea’’.

Now I’m not saying that Jones is sexist and misogynistic, but it’s a little funny that he only has these sorts of comments to say about female politicians.

Even former PM Malcolm Turnbull wasn’t having a bar of it, calling him out to Radio National.

“His pattern of using abusive and violent language against women, particularly women politicians, is disgraceful,” he said.

Obviously, Jacinda took it like a champ and barely gave Alan and his stupidity any attention at all.

“I don’t know that I’m going to give that the light of day. I think I’ll just leave it where it is,” she said.

Jones has made a grovelling on-air apology, saying that his comments were “careless, unnecessary and wrong”. Yes. They were unnecessary and wrong. And not particularly out of character.

I’m not sure why the likes of Alan Jones still have public platforms to spew their abusive, ignorant opinions into the world. But, it looks like even his own radio station is pretty fed up with it.

Let’s continue to platforms to people like Jacinda Arden, who use their voices to spread messages of unity and peace, and stop giving them to people who continuously spew hate and violence into the world.
