Praise be to Yeezy, the almighty intellect of our time. The man who proves that you don’t need a University degree to be the genius lyrical wordsmith of a generation. You just need to subvert musical genres and create an astonishing body of musical work beloved globally by consumers and critics, turn yourself into a global icon of pop culture, fashion, style, and trends, and then eventually the University degree will be rightfully bestowed upon you without ever having to turn over an exam paper.
Kanye West – despite all our quips and snips and such, he remains one of our favourite people on the planet – now has some official recourse to the official title of Doctor, thanks to being bestowed an Honorary Doctorate by the School of the Art Institute of Chicago.
Accepting the honour in Chicago, Yeezy was decked to the gills in traditional graduation gowns, and appeared nervous and overjoyed – seriously guys, he was smiling. SMILING. It was ADORABLE.
Kanye even stepped up to the dais to give a short little speech in acceptance and to be perfectly frank, and to borrow a phrase from the modern lexicon, it was peak Yeezy.
Even the wife was full of the love and pride for her graduate husband.
