Kanye West Got Sprung By Art Institute Of Chicago Pretending To Be A Teacher

A couple of days ago Kanye West, extremely back on his Twitter BS, claimed that he’s teaching art at an acclaimed institution.

“I will teach a course at the Art Institute of Chicago and the American Academy of Art,” he tweeted.

Just hours later, the institution issued a statement to deny West’s claims, stating that they have no affiliation with the controversial rapper and do not plan to change this in the near future, soz bro.

“We’re flattered that Mr. West would have an interest in teaching emerging artists and designers at the School of the Art Institute of Chicago. However, Mr. West is not currently teaching at SAIC, and at this time, there are no plans for him to do so,” Bree Witt, the school’s public relations director, told The Chicago Tribune.

West attended the American Academy of Art and Chicago State University in 1997 before dropping out to pursue music at age 20.

His mother, the late Donda West, was a professor at the university.

Though he didn’t pursue a career synonymous with his education, West was awarded an honorary doctorate by the School of the Art Institute of Chicago in March 2015 for his contributions to music, fashion, and popular culture, officially making him an honorary DFA.

But not honorary enough to score a teaching gig I’m afraid, Kanye.
