You know when you hear a track for the first time and then for the rest of the day you have to listen to it over and over again until you know every little part of it like it was your best mate? That happened to me today.
I can’t even remember how I got there but I ended up at You Love Her Coz She’s Dead’s MySpace and having avoided them before because of the band name, I reluctantly had my first listen. And holy shit. From the euphoric 8-Bit synths of Wizards to the addictive Dead End and the gameboy thrash-pop of Superheroes, this was instant adoration.
I’m not the only one. Forever ahead of the game, Kitsuné has already snapped this dynamic duo up with a 12″ due super soon. Sure Elle and Jay Dead bring pretty obvious Crystal Castles comparisons (glitchy, Nintendo-techno performed by a brooding punk-rock dude and a shrieking frontwoman), but when it’s as good as this is it doesn’t really matter. And with the French powerhouse behind them, you’re going to have You Love Her Coz She’s Dead on repeat before too long. And chances are you’ll love them.
