Mirroring last year’s headline act, Bob Dylan, the times they are a changing at Bluesfest, who have just announced an eclectic 2013 line-up representing a marked and exciting departure from their usual chill offerings. Historically un-chill US garage punks Iggy & The Stooges will headline alongside fightin’ Irish via Massachusetts punk legends Dropkick Murphy’s, soul crooner Chris Isaak, honorary Australian citizen Ben Harper, indie Chicagoans Wilco and Latin axe legend Santana.
“This is our Year,” declared Festival Director Peter Noble in a statement. “We are delivering one of our absolute best artist line-ups ever, and the first announcement is only the beginning.” We’re inclined to agree. This is awesome.
