“Dan” is a recording engineer who didn’t get paid for the “time and sweat” he put into mixing a screamy, shouty, fuck you mom you don’t understand me-type track for young (like, braces young) hardcore band Altitudes. Because the best revenge isn’t just living well, Dan overlaid the vocals from the hardcore track into an overwhelmingly mediocre dance one. Not only that, he got his hands on the video footage taken of the band while they were recording, and has put together the cringiest possible video (complete with heartfelt teenage emoting and almost-skateboarding) to go with it. The vocalist from the band claims that they “WERE planning on paying him back”, but then they didn’t, and this happened. 500,000 YouTube views later the band is famous, but not for the reasons they’d hoped.
