Happy palindromic-date day, everyone! To celebrate our friends at Rose Quartz have the intranet premiere of “Dreambeat”, a claustrophobic new track/video from Sydney four-piece Ghoul.
As we said of last year’s dubstep-inspired “3 Mark”, the band “is pretty much a vehicle for [frontman] Ivan Vizintin’s fucked up sex croon” which is no dis to the other members of Ghoul but recognition of how big and odd Vizintin’s voice is. Vital too, as the constant source of pathos amidst Dreambeat’s staccato guitars, immersive textures and aching whale noises. Seriously can’t wait for this new EP.
Both tracks will appear on Ghoul’s forthcoming EP Dunks out February 4 via Speak N Spell.
