There’s a distinct difference between performing in front of 50,000 adoring fans and a small cadre of hardened music industry pros. There’s an even huger gap when it comes to performing in front of deadset pop royalty Jennifer Lopez and fucking Madonna.
We imagine Katy Perry is acutely aware of this fact, ’cause footage from her Met Gala performance of newie Bon Appetit shows the aforementioned luminaries being polite and, uh, despondent, respectively.
Have a quick squiz at the candid footage. Observe JLo’s expression, which screams “hrmm, yes, tell me more about this… Bon Appetit.” Then, marvel at the quick pan to Madge. Just as well she wore a camouflage gown to the event, ’cause baby, she definitely wanted to disappear.
