Watch: James Murphy On Pre-Show Rituals & LCD’s Last Tour

This week LCD Soundsystem land on our shores bringing with them a sea of cowbell, the global premiere of DFA Records art exhibition, and general worship for the modern music guru who has never let a paunch, early aging and inability-to-tan get in the way of being a disco demigod. DFA linchpin James Murphy isn’t tapping out of the LCD Soundsystem legacy without bringing This Is Happening – and the party – to their legions of fans.

NME recently shot the footage below with Murphy, where he discusses planning for their final hurrah – “the best version of the band that we’ve been for eight years” and explains why champagne is the touring beverage of choice over red wine, whiskey and beer, as well as an insight into the pre-show rituals and backstage preparation.
