New York’s favourite dance kings LCD Soundsystem have sold out their final show in an instant. Pre-sales were released at 11am NY local time for the Madison Square Garden spectacular and the site allegedly crashed shortly after, with hundreds of would be revellers left wondering if they have missed their chance to dance.
Murphy surprised all earlier this month with the announcement of the band’s cessation, having stated a whole bunch of times that the group is still enjoying the experience of touring and will continue to do so for the immediate future. I guess he meant minutes and seconds when referring to ‘immediate’.
Australian audiences were among the blessed last year, with festival appearances at both Big Day Out and Splendour in the Grass – suffice to say both of these shows were pretty fucking amazing, so the agony of not being in New York has been slightly cushioned.
