WATCH: Father Bob Maguire Preaching His Ghetto Gospel By Covering Kanye West

Father Bob Maguire is a bit of a legend. The somewhat unconventional Catholic priest from the mean streets of South Melbourne certainly has a lot of strings to his bow: Preacher, radio and TV host, John Safran‘s mate, tireless charity worker, author, film star, and mate to just about everyone. Now you can add “rapper” to the list of his abilities.

Check out this clip of Maguire laying down some mad flow on a cover of Kanye West‘s seminal single, “Jesus Walks.” You’ll never listen to it the same way ever again.
The clip is part of a Pozible campaign raising money for Bob’s charity efforts, wherein you can suggest songs and Bob will record them and, ultimately, release them on record. Whilst we’re not sure if they all have to be vaguely religiously related, there’s still more than enough potential belters for Bob to smash out. Bob doing REM‘s “Losing My Religion“? Would listen. Joan Osborne‘s “(What if God was) One of Us?” Sign us up. Maybe even keeping it closer to home and have him do Violent Soho‘s “Covered in Chrome“? Hell fuck yeah.
