Where Baz Luhrmann’s first great, Great Gatsby trailer was all braggadocio: Jay-Z and Kanye West soundtracked visions of opulence, excess and artifice that anachronistically rendered the roaring 20s as an early 2000s Hype Williams hip hop video – the second, embedded below, is all Jay-Z and Kanye West soundtracked visions of opulence, excess and artifice that anachronistically renders the roaring 20s as an early 2000s Hype Williams hip hop video but with slightly more attention reserved for the personal narrative of the eponymous gazilionaire enigma (played by  Leonardo DiCaprio who really cornered the rich asshole market this year) at the centre of both the film and the cult F. Scott Fitzgerald novel on which it is based.

The Great Gatsby stars Leonardo DiCaprio, Tobey Maguire, Carey Mulligan, Joel Edgerton, Jason Clarke and Isla Fisher and is slated for release in May 2013.
