Watch Dan Humphrey Do A Very Passable Jeff Buckley Impersonation

Dan Humphrey, who, as it turns out, would never not tell and was GG this whole time by way of being a clandestine Upper East Side social seer who would willingly refer to himself as lonely boy and imitate the distinct intonations of Kristen Bell whenever he was by himself at his computer screen, tests our ability to suspend disbelief again in this first look/listen at Penn Badgley as the late, great Jeff Buckley.

Directed by Daniel Algrant, Greetings From Tim Buckley follows the nascent musical career of Jeff Buckley and his struggles in “grappling with the legacy of his late musician father, Tim, leading up to and culminating with his legendary 1991 performance of his father’s songs,” It is notable for being one of several Jeff Buckley adjacent biopics that went into production last year and for Badgley’s ballsy insistence on performing all the songs himself. See how prudent that decision was for yourself in this preview rendition of “Once I Was”, which, to our ears, is actually quite impressive.

Greetings From Tim Buckley is slated for release April 16.
