Washington (Megan, not D.C.) has come out swinging against Kyle Sandilands, repeating her correct, if obvious, accusation of earlier this year that he’s “embarrassing”.
A couple of months ago, when Sandilands – who is so firmly established as chief dickhead of Australian media that it’s barely worth pointing out anymore – insinuated that Lorde was in lesbians with Taylor Swift, Washo tweeted “Sandilands: you are embarrassing. Please retire. You have enough money. Please go away.”
Now she’s doubled down on the burn, saying “He is a gross misrepresentation of the ideas and the philosophies that are present in the Zeitgeist. He is so embarrassing and he needs to go home.” Good points, well made.
She also added “I honestly think if you believe in something, you have to stand up against it.” Here at Pedestrian, we believe sticking it to King Kyle is a noble cause indeed, but there’s also a lot to be said for just ignoring him, given he’s been trotting out the same blend of casual misogyny and homophobia since forever, and he’s one troll who LOVES a good feed.
Washington’s yet-to-be-titled second album is out later this year.
