Unheard White Stripes Material To Be Released

We didn’t know true sadness* until the White Stripes called it quits in February 2011 in a move to “preserve what is beautiful and special about the band and have it stay that way”. Fortunately for fans, they’ll be able to feast their ears on some previously unheard White Stripes outtakes which will appear on Third Man Records‘ new singles compilation, Vault Package 11.

The package includes a 7″ of outtakes of “Dead Leaves” and “Let’s Build A Home”, recorded during the 1999 sessions for the band’s self-titled album.

The liner notes read: These versions of [the two songs] are markedly different from the ones that would be re-recorded and released on White Blood Cells and De Stijl in the following years. Previously unheard until now, getting songs like these into the hands of true fans was the explicit reason The Vault was created.

True fans: the deadline for sign up to receive the Vault Package 11 is January 31st via Third Man Records.
