Triple J Confirmed Its Very New-Look 2020 Presenter Lineup & It’s Red Fkn Hot

Following on from the recent departure of a large portion of their on-air hosting roster, Triple J officials have this morning unveiled the lineup of new faces that will fill the rather significant gaps in their 2020 schedule. Without putting too fine a point on it, they’ve smashed it out of the park.

This week the station confirmed Linda MariglianoGen Fricker, and Tom Tilley would all be departing the station, following on from the earlier announcement that Ben Harvey and Liam Stapleton would be vacating their coveted Breakfast gig as well.

In place of the latter two, we already knew that Sally Coleman and Erica Mallet, collectively known as hip hop duo Coda Conduct, would be taking over the Breakfast shift next year. Now we know just who will be filling the rest of the gaps.

Replacing Marigliano on the Mornings shift is Lucy Smith, who regular Triple J listeners will recognise as the current Breakfast fill-in host following Ben & Liam’s departure earlier in the month.

Filling the void left by Fricker, Triple J has confirmed that 21-year-old Torres Strait Islander man and comedian Dave Woodhead will be taking over the weekday Lunch shift, following several on and off-screen roles on both Get Krack!n and Black Comedy, as well as a stint as the Triple J Breakfast host during NAIDOC week earlier this year.

Frequent Hack fill-in presenter Avani Dias is being bumped up to the full-time host of the show, with the Walkley Award finalist and current host of The Friday Shakeup replacing the tenured Tom Tilley.

Finally, stepping in to replace the promoted Sally & Erica on Weekend Arvos is Bryce Mills, who comes largely from community radio, as well as various pinch-hit stints on both the Breakfast and Lunch shifts.

Got all that covered? Cool.

That equates to a very new-look and deeply diverse roster of on-air talent on the air for Triple J in 2020.

For those keeping score at home, the full hosting lineup looks as follows:

  • Breakfast: Sally Coleman, Erica Mallet
  • Mornings: Lucy Smith
  • Lunch: Dave Woodhead
  • Drive: Veronica Milson, Lewis Hobba
  • Hack: Avani Dias
