The Temper Trap Working On New Album With M83 Producer

The Temper Trap this morning released a blog detailing the recording of their as-yet untitled sophomore album.

Entitled ‘Time To Break The Silence’, the post is the first news from the band since June and one of only two official communications to fans since October last year. The biggest news is that the band have already laid down between 30-40 tracks, 19 of which have been chosen to go into pre-production before they create the new record. Also interesting is their choice of producer:

“So after much deliberation we are happy to announce that we will be working with Tony Hoffer for this record. Some of Tony’s credit include Beck, Silversun Pickups, Phoenix, M83 and Ladyhawke. We are looking forward to getting in there and making the best god damn album. Bring it.”

The band also reveal that they had a writing session in Spain earlier in the year, which the author (we’re betting it’s Dougie) says was ‘a bit extravagant but very productive.’ If it produces anything like the ad-sync-slaying ‘Sweet Disposition’, their siesta will be totally worth it. The band are currently based in East London.
