Listen To The Temper Trap’s New Single

The Temper Trap have teased the first single from their forthcoming self-titled album, The Temper Trap. Set to a plethora of Marketing 101 ‘youth activities” – watching the sun set on a rooftop, skateboarding, studio hang outs, stop motion road trips- ‘Need Your Love’ confirms its own singalong status with a prescient “I need your love” refrain engineered to make drunk people shout at other drunk people at music festivals.

“When I first started writing I guess I just had a lot of stuff to get out,” singer Dougy Mandagi explains in his increasingly continental accent. “That’s the beauty of playing music, it’s like putting yourself through therapy.”

The new album, their second, was recorded with producer Tony Hoffer who’s previously worked with Beck, M83 and Phoenix and is due for release May 18.
