We don’t want to gloat or anything, but it seems almost 100% certain that The Strokes will play Splendour In The Grass after an announcement on Triple J this morning confirming two dates for Sydney and Melbourne:
Thursday July 29th – Hordern Pavilion, Sydney
Friday July 30th – Festival Hall, Melbourne
No Brisbane show we notice… Perhaps because Queensland-based Strokes fans will be enjoying Julian and co play at Woodford on the Splendour weekend – alongside The Pixies, Mumford & Sons, Hot Chip, LCD Soundsystem, and The Temper Trap, who all seem to be virtual lock-ins for the festival.
So far, according to our initial Lineup Leak, that is five out of eight acts looking guaranteed to be Splendour-bound.
