Teenager Dead, Another Critical Following Sydney State Of Trance

A 19-year-old man has died in hospital, and a 20-year-old is in critical condition following the State Of Trance festival in Sydney’s Olympic Park over the weekend.
Per reports in Sky News, it is believed that the 19-year-old died after consuming illicit drugs. He was treated by onsite medical staff after collapsing at the festival, but died after arriving in Westmead Hospital.
The festival was attended by around 16,000 patrons, and four others were taken to hospital, including a 22-year-old man who approached medical staff to tell them he had taken a number of pills.
NSW Police maintained a high-profile presence at the festival, and in a statement earlier today, they addressed their controversial use of sniffer dogs, saying:
“New South Wales Police will continue to use drug dogs and search people at events if we believe they are carrying illegal drugs. If you carry and supply illegal drugs you will be arrested.”
Three people at the festival were arrested on drug supply charges, while a number of infringement notices for possession were handed out.
