Teacher Cancels Class In Honour Of Beyoncé’s Birthday, Twitter Loses Its Mind

Beyoncé Giselle Knowles-Carter turns 36 this coming Monday September 4, and whether you choose to mark this occasion privately, or celebrate in a more public fashion, it’s undeniably one of the most important days on the calendar.

In recognition of this, a teacher has done the only reasonable thing and given students the day off, in a class schedule that was shared by a Beyoncé Stan account, and has since (rightfully) gone viral as balls, racking up 25,000 lines and counting.

We’re not clear where this class schedule comes from, although Monday September 4 is the Labor Day public holiday in the United StatesPuerto Rico, the Canal Zone, the Virgin Islands and Canada, so we’re assuming it’s one of those places.

Anyway, that’s immaterial, because come Monday, you should go ahead and ask your boss why the bloody hell you’re not getting time off for this most auspicious day.

In a recent interview with the Rap Radar podcast, Jay-Z revealed the origins of his and Bey’s brand new baby names. “Rumi is our favourite poet, so it was for our daughter,” he explained. “Sir was like, man, come out the gate,” he continued. “He carries himself like that. He just came out, like, Sir.”
