Bey’s 36th Birthday Cake Was A $3,400 Ode To Her Iconic Grammys Look

Beyoncé, queen of absolutely everything, has just turned 36-years-old.

It’s hard to believe there was a time before Beyoncé existed. What did we do back then? Where did one procure jelly?

Anyhoo, the singer-songwriter celebrated her big day at the Made in America festival in Philadelphia on Sunday and the festivities were bountiful.

During his set at the festival, Jay Z stopped and got everyone in the crowd to sing his wife happy birthday and former FLOTUS Michelle Obama (pls come back) hopped aboard the bday celebration train and dressed up like the singer in her famous ‘Formation‘ look.

Serenades and endorsements from highly powerful friends aside, there’s one element to a birthday that is clearly most important, regardless of age.

That is the birthday cake.

And Bey’s was nothing short of e x t r a.

Made at local Philly bakery, Cake Life Bakeshop, the towering cake is a clear ode to the iconic gold costume the singer wore for her Grammys performance last year.

The custom geode-inspired creation reportedly cost around AUD$4,300.

The honey and lavender-flavoured three-tiered cake was covered in black fondant and adorned with edible yellow-and-white crystals, with a crown added to the top tier.

The bake shop also created cookies in the shape of golden crowns and beehives:

Speaking to local Philly Mag, shop co-owner Lily Fischer explained how shook she was when she realised the order had come from Beyonce’s culinary team.

“It was pretty amazing,” Fischer said. “Everyone here knows that I love Beyonce … pretty much the whole week we just blasted Beyonce.”

Getting turnt to Beyoncé while making Beyoncé’s birthday cake you know Beyoncé will soon eat?

Flawless.
