Splendour In The Grass Rewards Punter Loyalty Again

In a market subject to unpredictable weather, artist cancellations, heated competition, logistical mismanagement and other fiscal pressures we have no idea about, punter loyalty is the festival equivalent of a monogamous Jersey Shore cast and/or Shane Warne. Splendour In The Grass knows this well, announcing the return of their line-skipping Splendour Members Club, a loyalty program which rewards five years of Splendour patronage with an exclusive first chance at 2011 tickets.

So how exactly do you prove five years of Splendour attendance? If you’ve consecutively attended the last five Splendours (up to and including 2006) state your name and date of birth and organizers should have no problems verifying your attendance. To prove attendance prior to 2006 (when attendee details weren’t captured and printed onto tickets), you’ll need a ticket purchase receipt, accommodation receipts or a credit card statement. Photos of you at the event may also be accepted, but they need to be near a recognisable feature from the festival (as in the photo above) not a blurry iPhone snap of you sliding in the mud in front of a tent. That could be anywhere! Also, in news that should please paraphernalia hoarders who need to justify their questionable behaviour (we all know one of you weirdos) souvenirs such as ticket stubs and wristbands will also be accepted.

A word of warning though: If your photoshop skills are as terrible as whoever made the “way wrong” tree of life poster that circled the web earlier this month, organizers reserve the right to deny any evidence deemed as false. That legit photo where you’re holding a copy of the newspaper and sipping a Govindas rose lassi next to Bernard Fanning in the Tipi Forest though, that’s all good.

Applications close Wednesday February 23. Head to the official Splendour website for more information.
