If you’re a fan of True Blood and/or Snoop Dogg this one’s for you. In promotion of the vampire dramedy’s newly launched third season, The Doggfather has just dropped “Oh Snookie” a musical love letter to the show’s Southern Belle protagonist. I know, I know. It sounds incongruous on paper but this had the potential to be way more terrible than it is. In the sordid world of cross promotional hip hop this could have been really terrible. Like the musical equivalent of P Diddy spruiking Proavtiv acne treatment or something. But Snoop seems like a genuine fan of the show and “Oh Snookie” is packed full of semi hilarious references to Bon Temps locals as well as propositions of the sexual and weed brownie variety.
