We only have ourselves to blame here but yep, Smash Mouth is officially touring Australia in November, playing a bunch of shows down the east coast, including Brisbane, Sydney, Melbourne, and Canberra as well as a few regional dates.
The band who turned into one of the biggest and long-staying memes with a bit of help from one Neil Cicierega‘s Mouth Sounds and Mouth Moods, the Californian band have leaned right into the fact that they’re popular again purely because of the Internet and Shrek (despite All Star actually being part of promo for 1999‘s superhero hit, Mystery Men starring Hank Azaria and Ben Stiller) and let’s be real, these shows are gunna go off.
Aussie ska punk mainstays Area 7 is set to support at the Syd, Canberra, and Melbourne shows, with all other supports yet to be announced.
Sound the alarm cos I’m calling it, the ska revival is coming in hot so you better pick it up pick it up pick it up.
Considering Smash Mouth have openly championed Alex Lahey on Twitter in the past, I’m officially putting my vote in for her to be on this tour, thanks.
It’ll all be kicking off in Sydney on November 8, before heading north to Tweed Heads, and then to Brisbane, Albury, Canberra, Wollongong, and Melbourne.
Presale tickets are up for grabs now for Albury, Brisbane, Wollongong and Melbourne, with Sydney up for sale tomorrow at 10am, and Tweed Heads and Canberra on presale from 10am on Thursday.
