PSY and Snoop Dogg’s New Video has Racked Up 15m Views in One Day

‘Gangnam Style’ was fun the first few dozen times, but then when Psy‘s follow-up single – that one about being a “mother father gentleman” – flopped, everyone figured that was it for him, right?

Well, because the internet is a terrible place and we resolutely can not have nice things, it might be time to think again.

The Korean pop star appeared on Kimmel on Sunday night to rep his new video, ‘Hangover’, a collaboration with rapper Snoop Dogg, whose hilarious masterplan to appear on every track ever made in the pursuit of ku$h money is going swimmingly.

The song, which bites pretty hard on Lil’ Wayne‘s ‘A Milli’, and whose lyrics consist almost exclusively of the repeated word “hangover”, has proved more popular than common sense would ever dictate.

In just over a day, ‘Hangover’ has racked up over 15 million views on
YouTube, and its success makes sense in a “this is literally the worst
thing the internet has ever vomited up, but I can’t stop watching” sort
of a way.

This milestone comes not long after the news that ‘Gangnam Style’ has surpassed two billion views. The history books will now need to be rewritten, or at very least, the phrase ‘one hit wonder’ next to Psy’s name can be crossed out in pink marker pen.
